Backend Engineering Lead (Go; Compliance)

About the role

We are seeking a hands‑on Engineering Lead to design, build, and scale our Compliance & Risk Platform. The role focuses on backend engineering and technical leadership across compliance systems such as KYC/KYB, transaction monitoring, sanctions screening, and internal risk tooling.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of backend services and APIs primarily using Go.
• Own the technical architecture for compliance‑related systems, including onboarding, monitoring, restrictions, and internal tooling.
• Collaborate with Compliance, Risk, AML Ops, and Product teams to translate regulatory requirements into scalable solutions.
• Design reliable, auditable, and secure systems with strong observability and operational workflows.
• Improve automation and operational efficiency across compliance processes.
• Mentor engineers, establish engineering standards, and participate in hiring to grow the team.

Required profile

• 7+ years of software engineering experience with strong backend expertise.
• Proven experience building production‑grade APIs and distributed systems.
• Comfortable working cross‑functionally with compliance and operational stakeholders.
• Startup mindset with strong ownership and execution ability.

Required skills

• Go programming language.
• Cloud infrastructure (AWS or GCP).
• Kubernetes and Terraform.
• PostgreSQL and Redis.
• Experience with system reliability, security, and auditability.
