Business Development Officer – Air Freight

About the role

Our client, a growing air freight logistics provider, is looking for a self‑driven Business Development Officer to own the full sales cycle. You will generate leads, pitch tailored air freight solutions, close deals and nurture long‑term client relationships, all while enjoying an uncapped commission structure.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and acquire new corporate accounts requiring air freight forwarding and supply‑chain services.
• Build and maintain a robust pipeline to meet monthly and annual revenue and gross‑profit targets.
• Consult with clients to understand requirements (express, charter, general cargo, temperature‑controlled) and deliver competitive proposals.
• Act as the primary commercial contact, overseeing onboarding, satisfaction and retention.
• Monitor market trends, capacity constraints and rate fluctuations to position offerings competitively.

Required profile

• 3–5+ years of proven sales experience in freight forwarding or air cargo.
• Existing network of shippers or commercial clients needing air freight services.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with strong self‑discipline and ability to work independently.
• Deep commercial acumen of air‑freight pricing, lane economics and gross‑profit margin management.
• Excellent negotiation, presentation and relationship‑building abilities.
