Data Analyst

About the role

The Hong Kong Jockey Club is seeking an experienced Data Analyst to join its fast‑paced sports and entertainment team. You will work closely with business stakeholders and technical teams to turn complex data into actionable insights that drive customer value and operational performance.

Key responsibilities

• Engage with business stakeholders, downstream application teams, and product owners to capture business objectives and analytical requirements.
• Translate business questions into analytical approaches, SQL queries, and data interface specifications.
• Perform data profiling and discovery on large, complex datasets to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
• Design, develop, and maintain dashboards and reports using Power BI, Tableau, or similar visualisation tools.
• Define, validate, and document business KPIs, metrics, business rules, and source‑to‑target mappings.
• Collaborate with Data Engineers to align data contracts, file/message formats, delivery frequency, and error handling.
• Communicate findings and recommendations clearly to both technical and non‑technical audiences.

Required profile

• 5+ years of hands‑on experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or related fields.
• Strong SQL skills with experience querying large, complex datasets.
• Proven ability to translate business requirements into analytical solutions.
• Deep understanding of data models, data lineage, and data quality principles.
• Hands‑on experience with Power BI or Tableau for visualisation.
• Experience working with both business and technical stakeholders to define data requirements and contracts.
• Experience in gaming, entertainment, loyalty, or customer analytics is preferred.
