Director of Professional Indemnity Scheme

About the role

The Law Society of Hong Kong is seeking a senior professional to lead its Professional Indemnity Scheme (DPIS). The role involves overseeing the scheme’s operation, advising the Hong Kong Solicitors Indemnity Fund Limited, and ensuring compliance with statutory obligations.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in formulating and reviewing insurance policies such as Directors’ and Officers’ liability and professional indemnity coverage.
• Monitor the Fund’s return, investment guidelines, and strategic direction.
• Oversee preparation and collation of actuarial, investment, and surplus projection reports.
• Supervise logistics and secretarial support for the Company’s committees and ad‑hoc working parties.
• Support the Law Society’s membership, Council, and committees in managing the Professional Indemnity Scheme in line with Cap 159 and Cap 159M.

Required profile

• Admitted solicitor in Hong Kong with at least 10 years post‑qualification experience.
• Strong knowledge of professional indemnity and insurance practice.
• Experience in large corporate environments is an advantage.
• Proactive, mature leader with independent working ability and strong analytical skills.
• Excellent written and spoken English and Chinese.
