Director / Senior Director, Institutional Sales

About the role

Barings, a global financial services firm and subsidiary of MassMutual, is looking for an institutional sales professional at Director or Senior Director level to join its Hong Kong or Singapore office. The role expands Barings' presence among institutional investors in Greater China, focusing on corporates, sovereign wealth funds, central banks and insurance companies, and drives fundraising and business development across its alternative investment platform, including private credit, real estate, asset-based finance and other private market strategies.

Key responsibilities

• Lead high-potential client opportunities and run targeted business development strategies for corporates, sovereign wealth funds, central banks and insurance companies.
• Manage the full sales process, from initial prospect engagement to RFIs/RFPs, investor due diligence and coordination of onboarding with internal teams.
• Organize fundraising roadshows and contribute to marketing strategies that raise Barings' brand and generate new business.

Required profile

• More than 10 years of institutional sales experience with a strong track record in fundraising and investor relations, especially in asset management.
• Well-established connections with institutional clients and limited partners, including corporates, sovereign wealth funds, insurance companies and pension funds.
• Demonstrated experience fundraising and distributing alternative investment products such as private credit, real estate, infrastructure, structured capital or other private market strategies.
• Proficiency in Chinese to communicate with Chinese-speaking clients in Greater China.
