Execution Systems Developer (Java) – Front‑Office Trading

About the role

This front‑office engineering position is part of a high‑performing execution technology team at a leading global hedge fund. You will design and build mission‑critical, low‑latency trading system components that directly support live investment strategies across global markets.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain high‑performance, low‑latency trading system components within a distributed architecture.
• Build scalable execution technology capable of handling large transaction volumes with millisecond‑level latency.
• Optimise system performance, scalability and resilience for business‑critical trading platforms.
• Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews and technical design decisions.
• Collaborate closely with traders, portfolio managers, quantitative researchers and risk teams to deliver innovative trading solutions.
• Contribute to the ongoing evolution of a sophisticated execution technology platform used across global markets.

Required profile

• Strong commercial Java development experience in financial markets or electronic trading environments.
• Excellent understanding of concurrent programming, multi‑threading and distributed systems.
• Proven experience building high‑performance, low‑latency applications.
• Solid software engineering fundamentals with a focus on clean, scalable and maintainable code.
• Comfortable working directly with front‑office stakeholders in a fast‑paced environment.
• Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills.
