Financial Services Audit Manager

About the role

KPMG China is seeking an experienced audit professional to lead financial services audit engagements across a range of accounting frameworks. The role involves managing audit teams, liaising with senior stakeholders, and ensuring high‑quality delivery for complex clients.

Key responsibilities

• Audit financial statements and group reporting packages under HKFRS, IFRS, US GAAP and other European local standards.
• Perform review, SOX, agreed‑upon‑procedure and IPO‑related assurance engagements.
• Supervise field teams, conduct performance reviews and provide on‑site training.
• Act as audit in‑charge for larger clients, briefing the team and delivering audit outcomes.
• Maintain regular communication with line managers, partners and clients on engagement progress and issues.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant with at least 5 years of financial services audit experience at a major firm.
• Strong technical aptitude for researching accounting issues across multiple GAAPs.
• Excellent business awareness to identify audit issues arising from commercial transactions.
• Fluent written and verbal communication in English and Cantonese and/or Mandarin.
• Team‑player able to multitask, work under pressure and demonstrate strong diplomacy and organisational skills.

Required skills

• Knowledge of HKFRS, IFRS, US GAAP and European local accounting standards.
• Experience with SOX compliance and related assurance procedures.
• Financial statement audit methodology.
