Head of Legal – APAC for Global Investment Platform

About the role

This senior leadership position provides strategic legal oversight for a leading global investment management firm across the Asia‑Pacific region. You will partner closely with investment, business, compliance and risk teams to support private markets, fund formation and cross‑border transactions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead legal support for private markets, investment management and business operations throughout APAC.
• Advise on fund formation, fundraising, governance, investor matters and alternative investment structures.
• Oversee negotiation and execution of fund, investment and commercial documentation.
• Provide strategic counsel on regulatory developments, investment activities and business initiatives.
• Manage external advisers and establish best‑practice governance and risk‑management frameworks.
• Collaborate with senior management to deliver commercially focused legal solutions.
• Support regional projects and work closely with Compliance, Risk, Finance and other key stakeholders.

Required profile

• 15+ years post‑qualification experience in leading law firms, asset managers or financial institutions.
• Strong background in private funds, alternative investments and asset management.
• Deep knowledge of investment transactions, fund structures and regulatory matters.
• Proven people leadership and stakeholder‑management experience.
• Commercially minded with excellent negotiation, drafting and advisory abilities.
• Experience partnering with senior executives, investment teams and global stakeholders.
• Collaborative, resilient and capable of handling complex cross‑border matters.
