Hotel Engineer – Mechanical & Electrical

About the role

The Royal Pacific Hotel is seeking a qualified Engineer to support the integrity and performance of its physical facilities. You will work closely with the Chief Engineer to ensure all mechanical, electrical, fire, life‑safety and security systems operate efficiently in a dynamic hospitality environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Chief Engineer in operation, repair, maintenance and installation of mechanical and electrical plant, fire & life‑safety, and physical security systems.
• Plan and assign daily, weekly and monthly work orders for repairs and preventative maintenance, and follow through to satisfactory completion.
• Support the Engineering Department in delivering timely and efficient service to all hotel operating areas.
• Ensure proper operation and maintenance of all mechanical and electrical services, providing technical support and leading fault diagnosis.
• Perform both operational and administrative duties, including shift work as required.
• Undertake any additional tasks assigned by senior management.

Required profile

• Diploma or higher in Mechanical, Electrical or Building Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in hotel or apartment engineering (preferred).
• Possession of an Electrical Worker Certificate (Grade B).

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of electrical systems.
• Proficiency with plumbing systems.
• Understanding of MVAC (mechanical ventilation and air‑conditioning) systems.
• Competence in PC operations for engineering software.
