IBM Z System Administrator – Mission‑Critical Banking Infrastructure

About the role

We are looking for an experienced IBM Z System Administrator to join a leading financial institution. The role focuses on the administration, support, and continuous improvement of a mission‑critical mainframe environment that underpins core banking services across multiple regions.

Key responsibilities

• Administer and support IBM Z mainframe infrastructure, including z/OS and CICS environments.
• Perform installation, configuration, customization, patching, upgrades, and maintenance of mainframe products and utilities.
• Monitor system health, performance, availability, and capacity using enterprise monitoring tools.
• Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve system incidents, performance issues, and production problems.
• Provide operational support for business‑critical systems, including on‑call and after‑hours rotations.
• Collaborate with application development and infrastructure teams across Hong Kong, Guangzhou, India, and other global locations.
• Support infrastructure modernization and automation initiatives, including CI/CD and process improvements.
• Maintain security compliance and adhere to internal technology standards and controls.
• Participate in disaster recovery planning, testing, and execution.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and support guides.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or a related discipline.
• 5+ years of hands‑on system administration experience in IBM Z / mainframe environments.
• Strong troubleshooting, problem‑solving and analytical abilities.
• Ability to work independently in a production support setting.
• Excellent communication skills and fluency in English.
