Management Accountant

About the role

The Junior Management Accountant will support the Business Analyst in producing accurate variance analysis, monthly management accounts and donor reporting. The role ensures donor funds are tracked efficiently and aligned with the organisation's animal welfare mission.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly P&L, balance sheet reconciliations and variance reports against budget, forecast and prior year.
• Assist with donor‑funded project documentation, annual audit schedules and month‑end closing entries.
• Collect and consolidate budget inputs, monitor operational spend and highlight material variances.
• Support financial modelling, scenario tracking and cost sheet updates in Excel.
• Act as finance liaison for non‑finance teams, answering queries on invoices, coding, accruals and budget availability.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (CIMA, CMA, CGMA, ACCA, CPA, HKICPA or equivalent).
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and understanding of financial controls.
• Experience in NGO, charity or international non‑profit environments is desirable.
• Excellent written and spoken English; Cantonese, Mandarin or written Chinese a plus.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel and Google Sheets (complex formulas, analysis).
• Familiarity with Sun Accounting or similar ERP systems such as Netsuite.
• Experience with Tableau, Power BI or Power Query for reporting.
• Understanding of IFRS and exposure to various GAAPs (HK, UK, US, etc.).
