Investment Research Specialist – Equity

About the role

Mercer is looking for an experienced Investment Research Specialist to join its global manager research team in Hong Kong. The role focuses on equity strategies across Asia, especially China, and will be performed in a hybrid work model.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct in‑depth research on Asia and China equity strategies, produce clear rating reports and present findings to internal committees and clients.
• Perform due diligence on investment managers through qualitative and quantitative analysis, including interviews, performance benchmarking and portfolio style assessment.
• Validate information provided by managers, articulate Mercer’s research process to external stakeholders and support broader Equity Team projects.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 years of experience in investment management or consulting.
• Strong analytical ability, excellent report writing skills and confidence engaging with investment managers.
• Stable employment record showing progressive responsibility.

Required skills

• Fluent in English and Mandarin; Cantonese is a plus.
• CFA charterholder preferred.
• Solid academic background (bachelor’s degree in finance, economics or related field).
