IT Support Specialist III

About the role

The IT Support Specialist III provides advanced technical assistance to end‑users, handling a wide range of hardware and software issues. The role requires independent judgment, initiative, and the ability to mentor less‑experienced team members.

Key responsibilities

• Field incoming help requests courteously and document user details and problem descriptions.
• Prioritize, schedule, and, when necessary, escalate issues to senior technicians.
• Use diagnostic utilities, software updates, drivers, and knowledge‑base resources to resolve problems.
• Identify, learn, and support the organization’s hardware and software portfolio.
• Install and configure new desktop and notebook PCs, including hardware setup, software installation, wiring, and user training.
• Perform additional duties as required.

Required profile

• Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent technical education.
• 5–8 years of related IT support experience or a comparable mix of education and experience.
• Demonstrated good judgment in selecting troubleshooting methods.
• Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on rapport‑building and customer service.
• Ability to research diverse computing issues and present solutions in a user‑friendly manner.
