Junior Buyer

About the role

Solent Group is seeking a Junior Buyer to support its buying function across fast‑moving categories such as Health & Beauty, Household impulse snacking and reusable bags. Based in the Hung Hom office in Hong Kong, you will help manage projects from development through to product launch, ensuring cost‑effective sourcing and on‑time delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with factories and customers to support product listings and long‑term partnerships.
• Coordinate regular factory meetings and quarterly site visits, gathering updates and supporting ongoing product development.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to monitor daily operations, assess risks and guarantee timely project completion.
• Execute cost‑saving schemes and supplier strategies, evaluating product costs, trends and supplier performance.
• Research market innovations, commodity trends and prepare presentations for the commercial team.
• Support data analysis, monthly reporting and sampling parcel arrangements.

Required profile

• University or higher diploma graduate.
• Minimum 2 years experience in sourcing, product development and project management, preferably with health‑and‑beauty, household or food products.
• Strong communication and presentation skills in English, Cantonese and Mandarin.
• Excellent negotiation, planning and organisational abilities.
• Willingness to travel nationally for face‑to‑face meetings and factory visits.
