Junior Data Scientist

About the role

We are seeking a Junior Data Scientist to join LRQA’s EiQ platform team in Hong Kong. The role spans the full data lifecycle, turning raw, often unstructured data into trusted “golden” datasets, intelligent models and production‑ready data products that support ESG and supply‑chain risk insights.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze structured and unstructured data to generate actionable ESG and supply‑chain risk insights across industries and geographies.
• Design, build, deploy and monitor scalable data pipelines and machine‑learning solutions on cloud platforms.
• Ensure data quality, security, privacy and responsible AI practices while integrating internal and external sources.
• Develop cloud‑based AI services, preferably on Microsoft Azure, with experience in AWS or GCP valued.
• Collaborate with consulting, assessment, product and technology teams to deliver end‑to‑end solutions and communicate findings.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, AI, Statistics, Engineering or a related quantitative field.
• At least one year of professional experience in data science or machine learning.
• Strong Python and SQL programming skills with an emphasis on maintainable, testable code.
• Hands‑on experience building data pipelines and working with both structured and unstructured data.
• Practical knowledge of generative AI, large language models and responsible AI practices.
• Professional proficiency in English; Mandarin is a plus.
