Junior Legal Counsel

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Junior Legal Counsel to support the rapid expansion of our logistics business across Africa and other global markets. Reporting to the Group General Counsel and the CEO of a listed company, you will play a key role in safeguarding our commercial interests and ensuring legal compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Create, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial and legal documents.
• Provide legal advice on daily operations, new business initiatives, M&A, investment agreements, intellectual property, trading, and general commercial matters.
• Coordinate with government departments, external counsel, industry bodies, and specialists to ensure seamless legal support.
• Collaborate closely with the legal team, African operations teams, and various internal departments.
• Monitor updates to relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards and assess their impact on the business.
• Recommend proactive measures to mitigate legal risks and avoid conflicts.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer in Hong Kong or a Commonwealth jurisdiction.
• 3‑5 years of post‑qualification experience in an in‑house legal department or law firm.
• Commercially savvy with hands‑on experience in contract review and daily operational matters.
• Fluent in written and spoken English and Chinese (including Mandarin).
• Positive attitude, strong interpersonal skills, and willingness to travel occasionally to Africa.
