Legal Counsel and AI Specialist

About the role

We are looking for a commercially‑minded Legal Counsel who also has a strong passion for legal technology. In this dual‑impact position you will manage cross‑border commercial contracts and regulatory matters while leading the company’s Legal AI transformation initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including SaaS, software licensing, vendor, procurement and partnership contracts.
• Provide pragmatic legal advice to business units on commercial issues, dispute resolution and risk mitigation across international operations.
• Develop and maintain standard terms & conditions, legal templates and corporate guidelines.
• Support senior lawyers in commercial disputes, regulatory inquiries and administrative legal tasks.
• Identify high‑impact legal scenarios for AI integration and drive end‑to‑end automation of processes such as contract pre‑screening, risk term extraction and intake triage.
• Build and curate legal knowledge bases, precedent libraries and AI‑powered Q&A agents for self‑service guidance.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering and IT teams to define requirements and iterate internal legal tech systems.
• Monitor developments in TMT and emerging AI regulations and advise on compliance risks.

Required profile

• LL.B. (or equivalent) with a preferred LL.M. degree.
• U.S. Bar admission preferred; admissions in Hong Kong or other common‑law jurisdictions are welcome.
• 2–6 years post‑qualification experience gained in a reputable law firm, multinational corporation or fast‑paced technology/TMT company.
• Solid foundation in general commercial law, contract drafting/negotiation and exposure to international regulatory practices.
• Excellent written and spoken English; proficiency in Chinese is a plus.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with generative AI tools.
• Familiarity with legal AI technology or contract analytics software.
• Basic IT/tech acumen or workflow‑building capability.
