Legal Counsel – Hong Kong or Taipei

About the role

EMQ is seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to join its legal team in either Hong Kong or Taipei. You will support the company’s rapid growth in cross‑border payments by providing commercial and regulatory advice across multiple EMQ Group entities.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review, negotiate and structure a wide range of commercial contracts, including master services agreements, IT services agreements, intragroup arrangements and partnership agreements.
• Collaborate with business development, technology, HR and marketing teams throughout the contracting lifecycle.
• Communicate and negotiate with external clients, partners and external counsel.
• Provide risk‑management advice and ensure effective governance and control monitoring.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer admitted to the bar in a relevant jurisdiction (e.g., Hong Kong, Singapore, US, UK).
• Minimum 5 years of experience handling diverse legal and commercial matters, preferably in financial services or fintech.
• Proven ability to thrive in ambiguous, fast‑paced environments while balancing growth and risk.
• Strong analytical skills with a solutions‑focused, ethical approach.
