Managing Associate, Investment Funds

About the role

Linklaters' Investment Funds group advises on the structuring, formation, taxation and regulation of alternative investment funds, serving sponsors and investors across real estate, private equity, debt, infrastructure and natural resources. As a Managing Associate, you will work across a broad mix of work and clients, taking part in market-leading deals and developing alongside lawyers across practice areas.

Key responsibilities

• Develop deep knowledge of relevant law, take instructions internally and from clients, and draft creatively, clearly and accurately using precedents where appropriate.
• Negotiate on behalf of the client under supervision and lead negotiations, exercising judgment on complex decisions, and carry out legal research, due diligence and information management.
• Build client relationships, seek new business, introduce clients to other practice areas and offices, and support the practice's business plan.
• Manage client matters end to end, monitor team productivity, adjust resources and handle difficult messages with sensitivity.
• Maximise profitability, liaise with clients about invoices to ensure timely payment, and mentor and supervise junior team members.
• Keep up to date with client industry developments and take part in group projects and initiatives.

Required profile

• Minimum of 5 years' post-qualification experience, or overseas equivalent with a minimum of 36 months of fund experience.
• Strong organisational skills, able to work on multiple matters proactively.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, enjoying teamwork.
