Paralegal – Capital Markets

About the role

Jones Day is seeking a Paralegal to support its Capital Markets team. The role involves assisting with IPO and other capital‑market transactions, providing legal research, document preparation, and bilingual translation support.

Key responsibilities

• Attend due‑diligence interviews and gather information from clients.
• Perform precedent and ad‑hoc legal research related to capital‑market matters.
• Conduct prospectus verification and other IPO‑related tasks.
• Assist in drafting and reviewing documents such as A1 filings, prospectuses, and due‑diligence questionnaires.
• Translate legal documents between English and Mandarin.
• Organise client meetings, take minutes, and follow up on action items.

Required profile

• Law degree is an advantage but not mandatory.
• Prior experience in capital markets preferred.
• Excellent written and spoken English and Mandarin.
• Strong communication, attention to detail and ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment.
• Proficiency with standard computer and IT applications.
• Willingness to travel occasionally to the PRC.
• Immediate availability is preferred.
