Principal, Banking & Financial Services – Hong Kong

About the role

Oliver Wyman, a global management consulting firm with more than 6,000 professionals, is looking for a Principal in its Banking & Financial Services practice in Hong Kong. The role leads high-impact consulting engagements for financial services clients and manages end-to-end project delivery, building trusted relationships with senior executives.

Key responsibilities

• Lead high-impact consulting engagements that help financial services clients solve complex, strategic challenges and drive measurable results.
• Manage end-to-end project delivery (or key modules), including hypothesis development, data gathering and rigorous analysis to generate actionable insights.
• Build and maintain trusted relationships with senior executives, influencing decisions and expanding long-term partnerships.
• Partner closely with Oliver Wyman leadership to ensure exceptional work quality and client impact.
• Mentor and develop junior consultants in a collaborative, high-performance culture.
• Shape and communicate market insights to strengthen Oliver Wyman's profile in the financial services industry.

Required profile

• At least 8-10 years of relevant financial services experience, preferably from a top-tier strategy consulting firm or a strategy department/in-house consulting unit.
• Track record of leading teams or work streams and delivering against tight deadlines in fast-paced environments.
• Strong strategic problem-solving and analytical skills, with financial services industry knowledge.
• Ability to turn content knowledge into thought leadership and to support business development.
• Outstanding communication skills and confidence presenting to senior executives.
• Undergraduate and/or advanced degree from a top academic program.
• Willingness to travel.
