Principal, Insurance & Asset Management – Hong Kong

About the role

Oliver Wyman, a Marsh business, is hiring a Principal for its Insurance & Asset Management practice in Hong Kong. The role leads high-impact consulting projects that shape the future of the insurance sector, working closely with the Actuarial team and partnering with senior executives and clients.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage complex client projects, ensuring timely execution and alignment with strategic objectives.
• Oversee project modules, including developing hypotheses, managing data collection and conducting comprehensive analyses to derive actionable insights.
• Collaborate with Partners to deliver high-quality consulting services.
• Engage directly with clients, delivering presentations and nurturing executive relationships.
• Mentor and develop junior staff, promoting a learning culture and skill enhancement.
• Develop and communicate thought leadership insights that position Oliver Wyman as a leader in the insurance industry.

Required profile

• 8-10 years of relevant experience in top-tier strategy consulting, or in Life, General, Health, Reinsurance or Asset Management sectors.
• Undergraduate or advanced degree from a respected academic institution.
• Demonstrated success leading and supporting diverse teams under tight deadlines and in dynamic environments.
• Flexibility and willingness to travel for client projects.

Required skills

• Thematic expertise in strategy (portfolio growth, distribution, internationalization, M&A), operations (claims management, underwriting, technology integration) and financial effectiveness (risk assessment, capital allocation, regulatory compliance).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, turning complex data into strategic insights.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, creativity and a collaborative approach.
