Project Officer - Public Relations, O'PARK1

About the role

Veolia is recruiting a Project Officer for O'PARK1, the food waste treatment facility being built for the Environmental Protection Department of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region on Lantau Island. The role covers public relations and liaison work for the project.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee and supervise public relations matters at O'PARK1, including the operation of the visitor centre.
• Assist in handling general enquiries and complaints received by the client about O'PARK1.
• Help the client liaise with stakeholders to promote waste-derived material (WDM), such as food waste-derived compost, and support district education and programmes on WDM use.
• Assist in managing separate WDM utilisation studies carried out by the client (e.g. contractor performance, payment and claims, regular surveillance and reporting).
• Handle other ad hoc office administration and duties as assigned by the client.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Marketing or a related marketing subject from a Hong Kong university, or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of experience in sales and marketing of organic compost; experience applying organic compost to government projects is an advantage.
• Public relations experience in waste facilities is a significant asset.
• Good knowledge of organic compost and understanding of the local organic compost market.
• Good oral and written communication in English and Cantonese; Putonghua is an advantage.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Proficiency in Chinese input method.
