Quality Engineer – Maintenance & Reliability

About the role

The Quality Engineer will lead quality and reliability initiatives within the Rolling Stock Workshop, ensuring that maintenance processes meet the highest standards of safety and efficiency. You will work closely with engineering, maintenance, and management teams to drive continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain engineering policies, procedures, and work instructions.
• Establish and monitor operational quality control processes and KPI reporting.
• Lead internal audit activities, prepare schedules, checklists, and corrective‑action follow‑up.
• Conduct Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and risk assessments for critical maintenance tasks.
• Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) on failures, defects, and abnormal events, and implement preventive actions.
• Maintain maintenance and quality databases, analyse trends, and produce monthly performance reports.
• Control engineering documentation, coordinate work‑instruction updates, and present findings to management.
• Support new projects and engineering improvement initiatives with quality‑focused expertise.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Quality Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in engineering, QA/QC, maintenance quality, or reliability engineering.
• Experience in railway, transportation, manufacturing, or heavy‑industry environments is preferred.
• Strong command of written and spoken English and Chinese.
• Detail‑oriented with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
