Senior QA Automation Engineer

About the role

Chartbeat Inc. is building a new QA automation capability for a large, mature media analytics application. As a Senior QA Automation Engineer you will shape the technical foundation, define engineering standards, and deliver automated test coverage that supports the product’s long‑term stability.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and evolve a scalable QA automation framework using TypeScript and Playwright.
• Establish patterns for test organization, reusable components, fixtures, configuration, environment management, reporting, and execution.
• Evaluate technical approaches and recommend solutions based on maintainability, reliability, performance, and scalability.
• Develop automated tests covering critical workflows across end‑to‑end browser testing, API testing, integration testing, and database validation.
• Create reusable automation abstractions to simplify new test development and maintenance.
• Analyze test failures, distinguishing product defects from automation, data, environment, or infrastructure issues.
• Define automation standards, best practices, and quality metrics for the team.

• Senior‑level professional with hands‑on experience building and maintaining test automation frameworks.
• Strong problem‑solving mindset and ability to work collaboratively with QA managers and developers.
• Proactive in identifying architectural issues before they impact test stability.
