Senior Tax Manager – Business Tax Advisory (Financial Services)

About the role

KPMG China is seeking a Senior Tax Manager to join its Business Tax Advisory practice focused on the financial services sector, specifically banking and insurance. The role involves delivering high‑quality tax advice to high‑profile clients and contributing to the firm’s growth and reputation.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of clients of varying size, acting as the primary point of contact.
• Build and maintain client relationships, demonstrating deep knowledge of the financial services industry.
• Oversee risk and financial performance of engagements, including billing, collections, and budgeting.
• Lead teams of tax professionals and assistants, ensuring effective follow‑up strategies.
• Provide tax advice and ensure delivery of high‑quality service.
• Stay updated on technical developments and market them to internal and external clients.
• Participate in market and business activities, representing KPMG positively.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree with a professional accounting or legal qualification.
• Proven experience managing and developing staff, with strong leadership and coaching abilities.
• Minimum 5 years of tax experience in Hong Kong or internationally, preferably within financial services.
• Demonstrated client management skills and ability to work autonomously.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English and Chinese (Mandarin & Cantonese).
