Software Engineer, AI Applications

About the role

LFX, a Fung Group company, is looking for a hands‑on Software Engineer to build and operate the backend services that power its Strategic Data Unit. You will own the full lifecycle of services—from design and implementation to deployment, monitoring, and maintenance—while dedicating a portion of your time to integrating AI/ML capabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and ship backend services and APIs that support supply‑chain data products.
• Build and maintain data pipelines and integrations with internal systems and external partners.
• Create internal tools that make data and models accessible to non‑technical business users.
• Own production services: monitoring, alerting, incident response, and root‑cause analysis.
• Refactor code, reduce technical debt, and improve reliability, performance, and cost efficiency.
• Manage CI/CD pipelines, containerised deployments, and environment configuration.
• Apply security, access‑control, and data‑handling best practices.
• Integrate foundation models and ML components (prompt design, retrieval pipelines, evaluation, guardrails) into production.
• Deploy, serve, and maintain models; fine‑tune open‑source models when needed.
• Assess new AI capabilities and determine where they add business value versus traditional software solutions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong Python programming skills.
• Solid understanding of API design, relational databases, SQL, and version control.
