Systems Analyst – Data Warehouse & AI Solutions

About the role

The Information Technology Office at Hong Kong Metropolitan University is seeking a Systems Analyst specialized in Data Warehouse and AI-driven analytics. You will design, build, and optimise end‑to‑end data pipelines that support the university’s research, teaching, and administrative functions.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement data pipelines for collection, transformation, and integration of diverse data sources.
• Develop and fine‑tune AI‑driven analytics solutions to improve decision‑making efficiency.
• Leverage AI products and cloud data platforms to enhance solution productivity.
• Create and manage data sets that feed business intelligence tools.
• Establish data quality standards and ensure compliance with university data protection and information security policies.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the department.

Required profile

• Recognised degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of post‑qualification experience, preferably with Oracle or MSSQL databases, AI model integration, and ETL processing.
• Experience implementing data‑warehouse solutions, ideally within higher‑education environments.
• Strong interest in emerging data‑analytics technologies.

Required skills

• Oracle and MSSQL database platforms.
• AI model integration techniques.
• ETL/ELT tools (e.g., SSIS, Alteryx) and SQL languages (PL/SQL, T‑SQL).
• Reporting and BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, SSRS.
• Row‑level security design and secure data access.
• Microsoft Fabric IQ, Fabric Data/AI tools or comparable cloud data platforms.
