Works Train Controller

About the role

The Works Train Controller leads the works train operations for the Tung Chung Line Extension (TUE) Project, ensuring safe and efficient deployment of manpower and resources for track‑related installation works.

Key responsibilities

• Act as officer‑in‑charge of works train operations and supervise a team of works train staff.
• Coordinate with the Railway Segment to arrange manpower, resources and deployment to meet works train requirements.
• Develop and issue test‑train programmes for commissioning and trackside equipment.
• Publish internal notices, attend regular safety meetings and formulate operating procedures, safety rules and protection plans for restricted areas.
• Lead safety and functional training for staff and contractors.
• Ensure project activities comply with the Works Train Manual and operational requirements.
• Regulate and monitor works train movements, investigate incidents and manage ad‑hoc changes.
• Participate in pre‑operations set‑up and preparation before revenue service.

Required profile

• HKALE level or Grade C/Level 3 with distinction in five HKDSE subjects (including English and Chinese), preferably a degree holder.
• Minimum five years of railway experience, including at least two years in a supervisory role.
• Membership of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport or equivalent is preferred.
• Extensive experience may be considered in lieu of formal qualifications.
