Assistant Vice President / Director, Group Finance

About the role

FWD Group is seeking a senior finance leader to act as the key technical accounting expert for the Group. The role will guide accounting policy, support major transactions and drive implementation of IFRS 9 and IFRS 17 across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and update the Group Accounting Manual and develop new accounting policies.
• Provide technical accounting advice to business units and resolve complex accounting issues.
• Prepare accounting memoranda, board reports and financial statement disclosures, especially related to IFRS 9 and IFRS 17.
• Lead accounting assessments for significant transactions such as M&A, investments and financing activities.
• Support high‑profile strategic projects and collaborate with Legal, Treasury, Actuarial, M&A and FP&A teams.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant with 12+ years of practical experience, emphasizing technical accounting.
• Deep knowledge of insurance and investment accounting, preferably from an insurance company policy team.
• Proven experience implementing IFRS 9 and IFRS 17.
• Strong analytical, detail‑oriented and deadline‑driven mindset.
• Ability to influence senior management and manage project teams.
