About the role
Join the Shangri-La Group Corporate Communications team to develop and execute the Group’s corporate communications strategy, strengthen its reputation and support business priorities across media, digital and executive channels.
Key responsibilities
- Support the development and implementation of corporate communications plans aligned with business objectives and brand positioning.
- Plan and execute integrated communications campaigns across traditional, digital and social media channels.
- Create high‑quality corporate content such as press releases, speeches, video scripts, website copy and social media posts.
- Provide executive communications support for the Chairman, Group CEO and senior leaders.
- Monitor corporate reputation, identify opportunities and issues, and recommend appropriate communications responses.
- Develop and maintain relationships with business, travel, lifestyle and hospitality media.
- Identify and coordinate media opportunities, interviews, features and speaking engagements.
- Manage media enquiries and coordinate timely responses with internal stakeholders.
- Track daily media coverage, industry news and emerging issues, delivering insights to senior management.
- Build relationships with industry influencers and external stakeholders to enhance corporate reputation.
- Lead or support integrated communications campaigns, press events and corporate announcements.
- Collaborate with Corporate Affairs, Internal Communications, Marketing, Brand, HR, Sustainability, Investor Relations and business teams.
- Partner with regional and hotel communications teams to ensure consistent messaging.
- Manage external PR agencies, production houses and media partners.
- Oversee multiple communications projects, ensuring deliverables, timelines and budgets are met.
- Support crisis communications planning, prepare holding statements and coordinate response actions.
- Monitor emerging issues and reputational risks across the hospitality and travel landscape.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, Business Administration or related field.
- 8+ years of experience in corporate communications, public relations, journalism or media relations, preferably in a large or international organisation.
- Strong corporate writing and content development skills, including press releases, executive speeches and digital content.
- Solid understanding of media relations, corporate reputation management and crisis communications.
- Excellent written and verbal English, Cantonese and Mandarin, with strong Chinese writing ability.
- Strong interpersonal, project management, presentation and stakeholder‑management capabilities.
- Strategic thinker with attention to detail, sound judgement and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Proactive, creative, highly organised, commercially aware and passionate about hospitality and the Shangri‑La brand.
- Experience with digital and social media platforms such as WeChat and Xiaohongshu is an advantage.
