Senior HR Business Partner Lead – Mass Retail

About the role

The client, a leading mass retail group in Asia, is seeking a Senior HR Business Partner Lead to oversee the Hong Kong and Macau operations. Reporting to the Group HR Director, you will drive strategic people initiatives and manage a team of HR Business Partners supporting a large frontline workforce.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the HRBP function for Hong Kong and Macau, partnering with senior business leaders to deliver strategic and operational HR priorities.
• Manage a team of 3‑4 HR Business Partners and collaborate with specialist Centres of Excellence.
• Oversee organisational effectiveness, workforce planning, talent management, employee engagement, change initiatives and leadership development.
• Drive a positive people culture across both frontline and corporate populations.

Required profile

• Degree qualified in Human Resources Management, Business Administration or related discipline.
• 15+ years progressive HR Business Partnering experience with proven leadership of HR teams.
• Experience in mass retail, FMCG, supermarket, food retail, hospitality, telecom, logistics or similar large‑scale consumer‑facing organisations.
• Demonstrated ability to support large frontline workforces in multi‑site environments.
• Strategic mindset combined with hands‑on execution capability.
• Strong commercial acumen and ability to influence senior stakeholders.
• Excellent communication skills in English and Chinese; experience in Hong Kong and Macau is a plus.
