About the role
Jacobs is seeking a Chartered Mechanical Engineer to lead the design and coordination of mechanical systems for major infrastructure projects. The role involves working with multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative, compliant solutions for water, wastewater and utility facilities.
Key responsibilities
- Design mechanical systems for infrastructure facilities such as water treatment works, pumping stations, wastewater treatment plants and utility projects.
- Prepare engineering calculations, technical reports, specifications, drawings and tender documentation.
- Coordinate with civil, structural, electrical and process engineering teams throughout project phases.
- Participate in project planning, design reviews and construction support activities.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant local and international standards.
- Assist in stakeholder and client coordination during project delivery.
Required profile
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Corporate Member of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE) or equivalent professional qualification.
- Proven experience in the design and delivery of infrastructure projects, particularly in water, wastewater, power, waste or other utility sectors.
- Experience with pumping systems, piping systems and mechanical process systems design.
- Strong communication and technical problem‑solving abilities.
- Good command of written and spoken English; Cantonese and Mandarin are an advantage.
