Senior Construction Manager – Foundation (2‑Year Contract)

About the role

The Senior Construction Manager will lead foundation and sub‑structure works on large‑scale residential projects for the Hong Kong Housing Society. Reporting to the Assistant Director (Project Management), the role oversees on‑site construction, consultants and contractors to ensure timely, safe and compliant delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Manage multiple construction projects on site, focusing on foundation, piling, excavation and ground works.
• Lead internal site teams – Clerks of Works, Resident Engineers, Building Services Inspectors – from foundation through superstructure, finishing and handover.
• Implement HKHS site management policies and Integrated Quality System to maintain quality, safety and statutory compliance.
• Monitor progress, identify delays, technical issues and risks, and coordinate resolutions with Project Managers, consultants and contractors.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental and statutory requirements, especially for high‑risk activities such as excavation and piling.
• Oversee contract staff competency, handover processes, complaint follow‑up and defect rectification.

Required profile

• Degree in Building, Engineering, Architecture or related field; professional qualifications (e.g., MCIOB, MHKICM, MHKIE) preferred.
• Minimum 15 years construction management experience, including at least 5 years in a senior managerial role on large residential developments.
• Extensive experience in foundation and sub‑structure works, with proven delivery of at least two residential projects.
• Strong knowledge of the Buildings Ordinance, related legislation, codes of practice and HKHS quality and safety standards.
