Associate Java Developer – Payments & Cash Management

About the role

We are looking for an Associate Java Developer to join the Global Transaction Banking team in Hong Kong, focusing on Payments and Cash Management solutions. The role involves building modern micro‑services and APIs that support core banking transformation across Asia.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain Java micro‑services using Spring Boot.
• Build REST APIs and integrate with messaging systems such as ActiveMQ, RabbitMQ or Kafka.
• Contribute to architecture and integration design for banking and payment platforms.
• Automate DevOps tasks with Python (e.g., PyInfra) and Jenkins CI/CD pipelines.
• Deploy and manage containers on Docker and Kubernetes environments.
• Work with PostgreSQL databases ensuring efficient data handling.
• Translate business requirements into technical solutions and provide production support, including on‑call rotation.
• Collaborate with business analysts, product owners and management, and ensure code quality through unit tests and Git best practices.

Required profile

• Strong Java development skills, preferably with Spring Boot.
• Proficiency in Unix/Linux environments and expert Git version control.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes and messaging systems (ActiveMQ, RabbitMQ, Kafka).
• Solid knowledge of PostgreSQL or similar relational databases.
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, with good English communication.
