Director, Global Data Platform & Governance

About the role

Reporting to the Chief Information Officer, you will lead the global data platform function for Rosewood Hotel Group, overseeing the end‑to‑end lifecycle of the enterprise data and analytics platform across corporate offices and hotels worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Define and maintain the global enterprise data platform strategy, aligning it with business priorities, IT roadmaps and AI initiatives.
• Establish and govern enterprise data architecture, including cloud data warehouses, lakehouses, master data management, data integration, event streaming and analytics tools.
• Own operational performance of the platform – availability, reliability, data freshness, quality, observability and incident response.
• Build AI‑ready, governed data foundations that support analytics, feature serving, automation and GenAI use cases.
• Lead platform modernisation and cost optimisation across AWS, GCP and Azure using IaC, FinOps and modern orchestration frameworks.
• Manage strategic vendor relationships, multi‑year budgets, investment planning and technology consolidation.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in data architecture, platform engineering or solution design within large multinational organisations.
• Proven people‑leadership record managing engineers and specialists in mission‑critical environments.
• Deep expertise in cloud data platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and hands‑on capability in SQL and Python.
• Demonstrated ability to build governed, AI‑ready data foundations and to embed privacy engineering (GDPR, PDPA, PIPL) into the data lifecycle.
