About the role

The Hong Kong Jockey Club is seeking a No. 2 Cook for its Beas River Country Club. The role involves preparing a variety of menu items, maintaining high standards of kitchen hygiene, and supporting the catering operations across the club’s facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare individual menu items, ensuring correct ingredients, preparation methods, and presentation.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness, including pot and dish wash areas, and ensure tools are stored properly with correct stock rotation.
• Organise and control mise en place for the next service, and minimise food wastage.
• Taste and inspect food for freshness and quality, and troubleshoot any kitchen issues.

Required profile

• Demonstrated punctuality, efficiency, and courteous attitude towards guests.
• Commitment to workplace health and safety, occupational health and safety, and HACCP food safety standards.
• Ability to assist in training, coaching and developing junior cooks.

Required skills

• Food preparation and cooking techniques.
