Accountant / Senior Accountant – Japan

About the role

We are hiring an Accountant or Senior Accountant for our Japan market, reporting to the Regional Controller. The role involves owning day‑to‑day accounting operations, financial reporting and cross‑functional collaboration.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the general ledger, maintain and reconcile the full set of financial statements, including P&L and balance sheet.
• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, ensuring compliance with local and IFRS accounting principles.
• Produce regular internal reports for leadership, providing actionable insights and recommendations.
• Coordinate with the local Tax Analyst to ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Required profile

• 5+ years of relevant accounting experience with advanced general ledger accounting.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Strong understanding of statutory and regulatory compliance requirements in Japan.
• Highly organized, detail‑oriented and able to prioritize tasks effectively.
• Excellent analytical, quantitative and communication skills in both Japanese and English.
