AI Developer – AI Lab (Hong Kong)

About the role

Intact is building an AI Lab in the Hong Kong Science and Technology Park to bring advanced data science, machine learning and AI to the insurance industry. As an AI Developer you will work closely with data scientists and engineers to turn research into production‑ready software that solves real customer and business challenges.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with data scientists to integrate machine‑learning models and advanced statistics into software applications.
• Design, develop, test and deploy efficient, well‑structured code for AI‑driven insurance solutions.
• Navigate ambiguous requirements, propose clear design trade‑offs and advocate for optimal solutions.
• Explore and adopt new technologies that improve developer experience and engineering processes.
• Share knowledge, results and tools with teams in Hong Kong and Canada.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, AI or a related field.
• Experience in software development – internships to senior‑level candidates are welcome.
• Familiarity with software‑engineering best practices, design patterns and the full development lifecycle.
• Strong collaborative mindset, curiosity and willingness to challenge the status‑quo.

Required skills

• Python (or comparable programming language).
• Version control with Git.
• Project tracking tools such as Jira and documentation platforms like Confluence.
• Understanding of design patterns and software architecture principles.
