Analyst (Credit Officer) - Japanese Corporate Banking

About the role

Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG) is recruiting an Analyst (Credit Officer) for its Japanese Corporate Banking Division. The role supports Relationship Managers by preparing credit-related applications and reports, resolving credit process and operational issues, and monitoring credit risks of assigned customers.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare credit applications and reports and resolve credit process and operational issues, producing accurate and timely customer documentation.
• Identify and mitigate credit risks and monitor credit risks of assigned customers.
• Develop and maintain strong stakeholder relationships internally and externally.
• Work with colleagues across departments of the Branch or primary offices to deliver an integrated service for customers.
• Partner with credit middle departments so that credit control and procedures follow Branch guidelines and policies.
• Contact or visit customers' parent companies to gather information needed for credit applications and reports.
• Cooperate with Credit Examiners and internal or external auditors on credit portfolio and credit risk inspections.
• Support the Credit Team Leader in implementing departmental improvement initiatives on schedule.
• Keep up to date with industry trends, products, internal rules, relevant laws and regulations, and adhere to company policies.

Required profile

• Degree holder with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
• Good knowledge of accounting and credit analysis.
• Good knowledge of the industries and economic environment of the region.
• Excellent organisational and analytical skills and attention to detail.
