Art Handling Specialist

About the role

Iron Mountain provides records and information management, digital transformation, data centers, asset lifecycle management and fine art storage, handling and logistics. As an Art Handling Specialist you ensure the safe handling of artworks for packing, crating, storage, transit and onsite projects, while leading and guiding teams and acting as liaison between clients and company managers.

Key responsibilities

• Handle and move packaged and unpackaged artworks
• Wrap and pack artworks using designated techniques, materials and crates
• Install and de-install artworks on site using proper techniques and tools
• Assist with rigging and heavy object movement using gantry, forklift, crane or other specialized equipment
• Load and unload trucks and plan their organization to ensure safe transit
• Carry out inspection reports on various types of art objects
• Lead a team, providing guidance and coaching during projects
• Act as liaison on site between clients and company management
• Determine project strategy when senior staff are not present
• Complete daily forms and document the status and scope of work in progress
• Organize and maintain operational tools and materials

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent experience
• 1+ years of experience in fine arts transportation or specialized removals
• Knowledge and interest in fine art, decorative art and/or design
• Ability to lead, communicate clearly and work well under pressure
• Willingness to work flexible hours according to project needs
