Asia Business Intelligence Specialist

About the role

Anthesis Business Intelligence is expanding its Asia practice and seeks a Business Intelligence Specialist to support due‑diligence, ESG, human‑rights, dispute and political‑risk investigations across the region. The role is based in Hong Kong and requires fluency in English and at least one regional language such as Mandarin or Korean.

Key responsibilities

• Manage complex open‑source and human‑intelligence investigative assignments, including pre‑transactional integrity checks and bespoke investigations.
• Produce concise, analytical reports that combine research findings with contextual analysis of business and political issues.
• Deliver written and verbal briefings to senior management and clients.
• Prepare proposals for new business opportunities.
• Support the development of Anthesis’ human source network in Asia.
• Assist in training new team members and proofreading reports once familiar with the house style.

Required profile

• 1‑6 years of full‑time experience in corporate intelligence, investigative journalism, ESG, or related fields.
• Fluency in English (commercial level) and at least one regional language (Mandarin or Korean preferred).
• Strong knowledge of Asian business and political environments.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline.

Required skills

• Proficiency with open‑source research platforms such as LexisNexis and Factiva.
• Experience using regional language‑specific databases and media sources.
• Professional use of the Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to plan and manage multifaceted research projects from proposal to delivery.
• Working knowledge of financial, commercial and legal concepts.
