Assistant Legal Counsel

About the role

Citybus Limited is seeking an Assistant Legal Counsel to support its corporate and commercial legal functions. The role involves providing practical legal advice, managing transactions, and safeguarding the company’s intellectual property and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Review, draft, and negotiate contracts, agreements and other legal documents.
• Provide practical legal advice and solutions on a variety of legal issues.
• Manage corporate transactions, including due diligence and negotiation of transaction documents.
• Advise on intellectual property matters such as protection, commercialization, licensing, enforcement and risk management.
• Handle disputes, litigation, regulatory and other contentious matters.
• Identify legal risks and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
• Provide company secretarial support to the Group’s companies.
• Maintain effective relationships with regulators and external legal advisors.
• Assist with ad‑hoc projects and assignments as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Laws or an equivalent qualification.
• Qualified lawyer in Hong Kong; newly qualified lawyers will be considered.
• Familiarity with the Listing Rules is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of Hong Kong corporate, commercial and intellectual property laws.
• Excellent negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Fluent in written and spoken English and Chinese; proficiency in spoken Mandarin.
