Assistant Manager – Business Tax Advisory (Deals & Asset Management)

About the role

We are seeking an Assistant Manager to join KPMG’s Hong Kong Deals and Asset Management Tax team. You will provide tax advisory and compliance services to clients in the M&A and asset‑management sectors, helping them manage tax risks and design tax‑efficient strategies throughout the deal lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain client relationships in the M&A/Asset Management sector, delivering comprehensive tax advisory and compliance services.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional project teams to create commercial solutions that meet business needs.
• Manage regional tax projects and support tax process transformation initiatives.
• Prepare reports and presentations for clients.
• Assist partners and managers with marketing and business development activities.
• Conduct tax technical research.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in any discipline.
• 2–4 years of Hong Kong and/or PRC tax experience with a professional services firm or multinational corporation.
• Professional qualification (accounting or legal) preferred.
• Experience in M&A tax, asset‑management tax or international tax laws preferred.
• Strong analytical and presentation skills with excellent English and Chinese communication.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Working knowledge of Alteryx, UiPath and Power BI (preferred).
