Assistant Vice President – Trading Systems Production Support Specialist

About the role

State Street is seeking a senior, hands‑on individual contributor to provide critical production and operational support for traders, portfolio managers and investment teams. The role is business‑facing, requires close collaboration across multiple functions and a minimum of four days per week on‑site.

Key responsibilities

• Provide hands‑on Level 2 production support for front‑office trading, Order Management System (OMS), Execution Management System (EMS) and market‑data platforms, ensuring high availability and timely issue resolution.
• Serve as the primary business‑facing point of contact for traders and portfolio managers, handling trading‑day incidents and major incidents.
• Diagnose issues across the trading lifecycle – order capture, routing, execution, booking, allocations, confirmations and post‑trade handoffs.
• Lead major incident response, coordinate cross‑functional teams and communicate status to stakeholders.
• Troubleshoot complex application, data, database, messaging and infrastructure problems using SQL, Unix/Linux, APIs, XML/JSON, FIX and SWIFT.
• Partner with development, infrastructure, vendors and support teams to implement permanent fixes and improve resilience.
• Leverage AIOps, observability tools and AI‑SRE practices to enhance event correlation, anomaly detection and alert quality.
• Create or support self‑healing agents, automated runbooks and AI‑assisted workflows for repeatable L2 troubleshooting.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of trading workflows, OMS/EMS, market‑data and front‑office applications.
• Hands‑on expertise in SQL, Unix/Linux, shell scripting and enterprise scheduling tools (e.g., Autosys).
• Working knowledge of FIX, SWIFT, APIs, XML and JSON messaging.
• Experience with ServiceNow and ITIL incident, problem and change management processes.
• Exposure to cloud environments (AWS, Azure or hybrid) and AIOps/observability tools.
• 8+ years of front‑office production support in asset management, capital markets or financial services.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, Finance or a related field.
