Associate Director, Local Markets Rates Trading

About the role

ANZ is seeking an Associate Director to lead its Local Markets Rates Trading activities in Hong Kong. The role supports the franchise’s HKD and RMB trading strategy, working closely with sales, trading and other stakeholders to deliver client outcomes and grow the business.

Key responsibilities

• Manage franchise flows across the HKD and RMB markets while supporting trading and client activity.
• Provide competitive and timely pricing for internal and external customers across rates products.
• Partner with Sales and Trading teams to enhance franchise profitability and support business development initiatives.
• Generate market insights and trading ideas, contributing to the implementation of the Hong Kong Local Markets Rates strategy.
• Maintain strong risk and compliance practices, ensuring adherence to internal frameworks, regulatory requirements and trading mandates.

Required profile

• Deep understanding of HKD and RMB markets, including on‑shore and off‑shore dynamics.
• Extensive trading experience within rates markets.
• Proven ability to manage franchise flows and deliver client‑focused outcomes.
• Strong judgment, disciplined risk management and governance capabilities.
