Associate Director - Operational Risk

About the role

The Associate Director, Operational Risk will join ANZ's Institutional Non-Financial Risk Operational Risk and Resilience Centre of Excellence. Based in Hong Kong, you will help shape risk management practices across the Institutional division, ensuring that risk appetite is respected and resilience is strengthened.

Key responsibilities

• Act as a trusted advisor to the Institutional business and partner with enterprise stakeholders.
• Ensure risk frameworks, policies and processes are effectively implemented across the division.
• Drive continuous improvement in risk management practices, controls and governance outcomes.
• Provide insight, oversight and constructive challenge on risk profiles, control effectiveness and change risk.
• Build strong relationships with business leaders, risk partners and control functions.
• Monitor risk appetite through meaningful metrics and indicators.
• Strengthen the control environment by enhancing tools, data and processes.

Required profile

• Extensive expertise in change risk management, execution risk and non‑financial risk frameworks, including the ANZ Delivery Framework.
• Strong understanding of operational risk themes such as third‑party risk, transaction processing, model risk, physical security, people, legal, statutory reporting and tax.
• Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive risk‑aware decision making.
