Associate, LAF Asset Management

About the role

Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG) is recruiting an Associate for its newly created Asset Management (AM) team within the Leveraged and Acquisition Finance (LAF) business for APAC. The AM business focuses on managing credit analysis of existing LAF borrowers across APAC, providing a portfolio overlay for reporting and proactive exposure management, and managing portfolio distribution. The role works closely with the wider LAF team and interfaces with many stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Ongoing monitoring and management of a portfolio of non-investment grade borrowers originated by the LAF group
• Analyse and monitor the portfolio and proactively manage long-term debt sizing and distribution of LAF assets
• Report on the LAF portfolio to stakeholders such as senior management and audit, ensuring adherence to internal and external requirements
• Assist with refinancing and cross-sell opportunities with portfolio borrowers, working with LAF, Financial Sponsor Coverage, Capital Markets, Transaction Banking and Corporate Relationship Managers

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in banking or finance; experience in credit, portfolio management, corporate finance, loans and syndications or corporate and institutional banking is highly valued
• Experience working with a range of stakeholders
• Ability to work independently and in teams, handle multiple tasks and adapt to high-pressure environments

Required skills

• Basic working knowledge of leveraged and acquisition finance, credit analysis, corporate and institutional banking and capital markets
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, financial modelling, data analysis) and PowerPoint
• Strong written and verbal communication and attention to detail
