AVP/VP - Prime Brokerage Transaction Management

About the role

The position supports a Global Tier-1 Investment Bank’s Prime Services platform, providing legal and documentation oversight for complex prime brokerage transactions. The role bridges Legal, Compliance, Credit Risk, Operations and Front-Office teams to ensure regulatory compliance and risk management.

Key responsibilities

• Review and oversee execution documentation for prime brokerage transactions, including ISDA Master Agreements, Credit Support Annexes, GMRA, GMSLA and bespoke side letters.
• Partner with Legal, Compliance, Credit Risk, Operations and Front-Office Trading/Sales to align transactions with regulatory standards and internal risk appetites.
• Monitor regulatory updates (e.g., Dodd-Frank, EMIR, SFTR, HKMA/SFC) and drive process improvements to mitigate legal and operational risks.

Required profile

• Legal degree (LL.B., J.D.) or Finance/Business degree with strong paralegal or legal operations experience in financial services.
• 3-6+ years of experience in Prime Brokerage Transaction Management, legal documentation, or a top-tier law firm.
• Deep familiarity with ISDA, GMRA, GMSLA frameworks, equity and synthetic derivative structures, securities lending and margin documentation.
• Exceptional contract analysis, attention to detail, sound risk judgment and ability to negotiate under market pressure.
• Fluent written and spoken English; Cantonese or Mandarin a plus.
