Chemist / Senior Chemist (Hardlines)

About the role

SGS, a global inspection, verification, testing and certification company, is hiring a Chemist or Senior Chemist (Hardlines) in Fanling. The role covers reviewing and approving test results, supervising laboratory operations and supporting the team's human resources.

Key responsibilities

• Review and authorise test results from technical and statistical perspectives
• Act as signatory of test reports
• Monitor, maintain and improve the daily effectiveness and efficiency of laboratory operations
• Oversee HR-related team activities such as interviews, workforce planning and performance management
• Develop staff training and people development plans aligned with business strategy and individual needs

Required profile

• Degree or above in Chemistry or a related discipline
• At least 7 years of relevant experience, including 2 years in laboratory supervision, operation and service programme development
• Candidates with less experience may be considered as Chemist
• Good command of English and Chinese, including Mandarin

Required skills

• Knowledge of the HOKLAS system and ISO/IEC 17025
• Ability to work independently, initiative and organisation
